The challenge is simple -- make a boat, paddle or sail two people to the buoy and back.
The challenge is held annually in the summer at Lyngen, Norway. 2007 was our first year with two entries. Both boats floated, neither boat made it to the buoy.
As part of the construction, we first put together a 4' x 8' ShopBot CNC router. See photos from installing the router. A full-sheet sized CNC router makes boat building almost unfairly simple. It's just a question of whether your design can float!
